The fourth annual UK to Nashville Songwriting Camp recently took place in Nashville. The camp ran from September 19th-23rd with the mission of creating new relationships between the vibrant emerging music scene of the UK and historic Nashville music markets. The week concluded with a listening party at our Downtown Nashville office.
Nashville songwriting and publishing veteran Allen McKendree Palmer of Palmer Global Ink oversaw the annual camp and The Department for International Trade (UK) sponsored the week-long festivity.
UK and USA based songwriters attending the camp were divided into teams composed of two UK writers and one Nashville writer. Teams started work bright and early each morning and wrote from 9am-12pm. After breaking for lunch, writing teams transitioned into local recording studios to create demos of the songs that were written by the teams in the morning sessions....
Around the Dev offices, they’re known as “Pod 1” because their desk grouping has been around the longest. NOT because they're the best pod -- as they seem to think they are.
But, even their rivals in the pod war have to acknowledge that, in the Nashville music and tech scene, kalatech is a growing force attracting attention from artists and entrepreneurs alike.
Last week kalatech won the Nashville Technology Council’s Early Stage Company of the Year Award. They were part of a great field of candidates, including mobile ECG company InvisionHeart.
Kalatech launched full force in May of 2014 with a suite of 3 software products designed to make life in the music business a little easier. In the last 8 months, their Booking, Touring, and Publishing software have attracted huge names in the business.
The client list includes big name stars like Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, and Luke Bryan,...
Last night Nashville hosted the Country Music Association Awards, capping a week full of music and parties and superstars.
At Kalatech, we’re very lucky to work with world class musicians all over the world, and last night showcased some of our favorite clients.
Congratulations to Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, who won Male Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year respectively. Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark took home Song of the Year for “Follow Your Arrow.”
We also loved the performances from our clients Jason Aldean, Cole Swindell, Blake Shelton, and Luke Bryan.
In an exciting twist, the much talked about Lady Antebellum performance of Bartender was powered by DevDigital clients Glow Motion. There are many more things in store for this exciting company, so stay tuned!
Downtown Nashville is a little quieter today, now that the Awards have passed. As we get back into the...
Austin and Nashville are two Southern cities heavily influenced by music and technology. The both host a vibrant entrepreneurial culture that attracts the talent required to create outstanding music and breakthrough technology. I have the pleasure of engaging in both communities and in both industries.
So, I was really thrilled to receive the top honor at the recent Battle of the Tech Bands hosted by the Austin Technology Council.
The Battle of the Tech Bands kicks off Austin’s Start Up Week. This year’s event was held on October 6th at the Mohawk. Our band consisted of myself, and the Texas Jamm Band, which includes long-time friends of mine that are members of George Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band. We shared the stage with 10 other extremely talented tech bands.
We opened with George Strait's 'The Fireman' then played a Texas Jamm Band original song 'Drinking Doubles' then closed with...
