SEO Engineer / Project Manager


This employee makes decisions about implementation for SEO Strategy and works as a Project Manager for SEO projects. The primary responsibilities in this role is to be the go-to-expert, successfully leading the day-to-day management of complex and sophisticated Search Campaigns; act as the central hub for all SEO client projects, while delivering client objectives. Employee will be responsible for the supervision of SEO optimization team tasks. This role will be asked to learn new data sources and new analytical tools, as well as provide recommendations to management.



  • Perform recurring data analysis to identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Analyze historical data and identify patterns
  • Responsible for campaign set-up
  • Working with the SEO Strategist to implement plans that are developed within the hours allotted.
  • Translate data-findings into insights (working with our team of strategists when appropriate)
  • May oversee multiple accounts providing oversight, coordination and escalation for team
  • Work with Clients to solve access problems, data issues and provide recommendations.
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of websites and web pages
  • Provide recommendations and execute strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals – general and keyword specific
  • Administer search engine programs (XML sitemaps, shopping feeds, webmaster tools) for purposes of diagnostic reporting on client projects
  • Implement link building campaigns in coordination with client SEO goals
  • Monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports and key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance with client goals

 Analysis, Thought Leadership & Communication:

  • Employ analytical reasoning, data analysis, and problem-solving skills to effectively and efficiently manage campaigns
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and professional communication skills by developing and delivering client-facing materials, such as sales material, audits, business cases and analytic performance reports
  • Utilize business acumen to work closely with client teams to identify and fully understand business needs, campaign performance objectives and opportunities to grow the relationship

Teamwork and Project Management:

  • Effectively communicating task execution and timeline requirements, strategic guidance, and constructive feedback to aid in their growth in their core functional areas
  • Identify new process improvement opportunities
  • Actively monitor and share industry news, online marketing trends, industry tools and internal cross-team key learnings
  • Demonstrate a solutions-oriented approach to solving challenges under tight deadlines
  • Assist with team management activities such as staff training, work management and recruitment


  • 3 – 5 years experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics as well as internal reporting tool
  • Experience working with popular keyword tools (Google, WordTracker, Keyword Discovery, etc)
  • Experience working with CMS and building/administering content in CMS environments
  • Desired: Knowledge of HTML/CSS and website administrations
  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • Strong professional presence and communication skills

  • Problem-solving skills; able to draw conclusions and able to devise strategic recommendations
